
eDUCATION & CHILDCARE

Shoal Lake #40 provides educational and support services and to elementary, junior and high school students living on reserve. Some of our services include support for resume building, social guidance/counselling, course registration and college/university application assistance, transportation arrangements, and financial support to post-secondary students both on and off the reserve. Shoal Lake #40 also operates a licensed daycare centre with full-day and part-time programs for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The centre offers a variety of activities to enhance the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical and social development of children. For more information about our childcare centre, click here.
The recently-constructed Harvey Redsky Memorial School – named after a former custodian and well-respected band member – offers education from kindergarten to grade eight. Additionally, the school is used as a community centre for hosting sport events, tournaments, ceremonial celebrations, harvest gatherings, Band Council and community meetings, festivals, derbys, and more. The school provides a variety of programs, including the following:
- Native language program
- Cultural educational programs
- Early years program,
- Physical specialist/outdoor program
- Literacy intervention/special education program
- Breakfast and lunch program


Shoal Lake #40 provides childcare support through Jordan’s Principle – a child-first and needs-based principle that ensures our children have equitable access to all government-funded services when they need it.
