
The Jordan’s Principle Recreation Facilitator will work directly with the Makoons Jordan’s Principle team in planning, leading programs and supervising activities while leading by example, guiding, and mentoring children and youth. Such programming may include general recreation activities, special events, field trips, day camps and after school programs. These programs may operate during regular work hours, evenings and weekends and may require travel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of Jordan’s Principle Wraparound Supervisor, the Recreation Facilitator will support program staff in the development and implementation of
meaningtul program plans and activities
Plan recreation activities that are culturally appropriate activities that are focused on social and skill-based outcomes.
Liaise with Shoal Lake #40 First Nation community program staff and families, children, and youth.
Ensure safety and supervision of the participants.
Manage inventory of equipment and supplies required for activities.
Collaborate with staff when planning and conducting programs; - Support the overall physical wellbeing of children, youth and their families through recreation, weliness activities and programming.
- Promote health and personal growth through leisure and recreational experiences. They may include group activities on and off the community, evening activities (e.g. movie nights, bingo, sport tournaments, swimming activities and much more.)
